What is Hindu Religion

Hinduism is the oldest living religion in the world. Unlike most other religions, Hinduism has no single founder, no single scripture, and no commonly agreed set of teachings. Throughout its extensive history, there have been many key figures teaching different philosophies and writing numerous holy books. For these reasons, writers often refer to Hinduism as 'a way of life' or 'a family of religions' rather than a single religion. Hinduism is considered a very personal faith towards certain rituals and ceremonies like offering prayers to almighty in a form of Poooja and offering respects to the eternal soul in a form of sradha. .

What is Dharma and why it has so importance.

Dharma' is one of the most intractable terms used in the Hindu philosophy Every Hindu believes in Dharma, which are a set of divine rules for every one to follow and live by these rules as established by the Vedas. Dharma is the moral law combined with spiritual discipline that guides one's life. Hindus consider Dharma the very foundation of life. Atharva Veda describes Dharma symbolically: Prithivim Dharmana dhritam, that is, "this world is upheld by Dharm. Worshipping of God, performing Shradhas to the eteronal soul of their clan is Swadharma of a Hindu as defined in Vedas, the ancient religious texts received by saints direct from God and passed on to the next generations by word of mouth.

What is Pooja and why it has so importance:

It is very well known fact that whenever we, the human beings are in any type of trouble we look for some superior power or a force to help us and get rid us out of the problem. Now what can be a better solution for this than to resort to God Almighty who himself has created us. It is for this very purpose that our ancient sages developed a way to communicate and convey our problems to almighty God for getting rid of our problems or seek the divine blessings to save us from impending problems via certain specific procedures/ religious rituals which are known as Puja and Homas being performed by learned Brahmins according to the Rules and guidelines laid in our ancient scripts for attaining certain wishes or for protection against any malefic effect.

What is Shradha and why it has so importance.

Performance of Shraddha by a son to the eternal soul is regarded as compulsory by Hindus, to ensure that the soul of the ancestor goes to heaven. The scripture Markandeya Purana says that if the ancestors are content with the shraddhas, they will bestow health, wealth, knowledge and longevity, and ultimately heaven and salvation (moksha) upon the performer. By performing tarpan, the deceased ancestors’ souls not only get satisfied and leave us, but they also bestow long life, radiance, superior intellect (brahmavarchaswa), wealth, success and foodstuff (ability to digest the food consumed) on the host performing the tarpan and satisfies him too. Tila tarpan means offering sesame seeds mixed in water to the deceased ancestors’ souls. Tila tarpan (as a part of Shraddha) should be offered to the same number of ancestors’ souls for whom the shraddha has been performed. Sesame seeds are the favorites of deceased ancestors’ souls. By usage of sesame seeds, the demons do not obstruct the ritual of Shraddha which is described as repaying the debt to ancestors and be reciprocated with their blessings.
